Binance Charity will airdrop 1 million USD in BNB to users in areas affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.
To support and mitigate the severe damages caused by Typhoon Yagi in the northern region of Vietnam, Binance Charity will airdrop 1 million USD in BNB to users who have registered on Binance and are living in the affected areas.
“The identification of affected users will be based on their POA (Proof of Address) information, which will be used to verify their residence in 25 northern cities and provinces, the regions most heavily impacted.
Users who have completed their POA before September 10, 2024, in these 25 provinces and cities will receive 50 USD in BNB directly into their Binance accounts. However, we understand that not all affected users may be able to complete POA by the deadline. Therefore, Binance Charity will also airdrop 20 USD in BNB to users who registered an account before September 10, 2024, and complete POA between September 10, 2024, and September 30, 2024 (inclusive).
The aid will start being distributed to users from September 16, 2024.”
Binance CEO Richard Teng shared: “We offer our deepest condolences to those heavily affected by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam. We hope that our efforts can provide some relief to those impacted. We stand by the community and hope that they will soon overcome this disaster.”
Previously, Binance Charity also carried out several charitable initiatives in Vietnam, including the installation of saltwater filtration systems and donations of medical supplies to help address the social challenges faced by the community.
Binance users need to verify their address in the 25 northern provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi to receive support. The affected provinces include: Hà Giang, Cao Bằng, Bắc Kạn, Lạng Sơn, Tuyên Quang, Thái Nguyên, Phú Thọ, Bắc Giang, Quảng Ninh, Lào Cai, Lai Châu, Yên Bái, Điện Biên, Sơn La, Hòa Bình, Bắc Ninh, Hà Nam, Hanoi, Hải Dương, Hải Phòng, Hưng Yên, Nam Định, Ninh Bình, Thái Bình, and Vĩnh Phúc.
Note: Users who created an account previously, completed KYC, and verified their residential address (advanced verification) will receive BNB on September 16. Those who have an account but haven’t completed KYC must complete KYC (both identity and address verification—advanced KYC) by September 30.
